Whilst many of our regular activities are on pause due to the current restrictions we are open and are serving our community here in Bedford.

The General introduces a world collaboration of the band piece 'They Shall Come From the East' by Kevin Larsson.
This work of art depicts the passage of scripture referenced by the General and combined this makes a powerful reminder that ALL are welcome at the feast table in the Kingdom of God. [Luke 13:29].

155 years old today [2nd July] and still fighting!!!

An Appeal:

As a local Salvation Army, although our doors have needed to close, our hearts and hands remain open as we endeavour to meet the needs of our community and find the gaps that are not being met.

We are:
  • working with local schools to support families that fall through the net
  • serving takeaway lunches to rough sleepers & others (Wednesdays & Sundays)
  • being available as a listening ear
  • shopping for those who cannot go out
  • supplying emergency food parcels & utility support
  • our Debt Advice Centre is working to help people who find themselves in financial difficulties

Welcome to your Salvation Army Church in Bedford website. We are a lively and active church, with a mission to show Christian love in action and to lead people to Jesus Christ.

We are all about people and our doors are open seven days a week.

We are not just a Sunday church - you will find things going on every day and people getting involved in and outside of our buildings in many different ways.

Our strategy is to provide an opportunity for believers to develop their relationship with Jesus Christ, and provide an opportunity for non-believers to encounter Jesus Christ.

We actively support our worshipping community to respond to the various needs of Bedford's communities.​
The song below has become known as The Bedford Anthem.  It has a great deal of meaning for us as a church: the setting of these words to this piece of music has a story that goes back to the mid 1950's.  The song is a song of dedication and challenge, listen as the congregation sing.......
