We celebrated our 45th Wedding Anniversary on the 24th May and it brought to my mind one of the songs we chose which was ‘All the way my Saviour leads me’. One or two raised eyebrows as they thought it was a strange hymn to choose to celebrate our marriage but it was our declaration that it wasn’t just us in the mix and the confidence we had in our God. Friends once confided that at the start of their marriage they wrote these words on the back of their wedding photograph ‘Each for the other, both for God!’
We started our marriage with joy and expectation but also with knowledge of the realities of life and along with happiness there would very likely be hard times but we would face them together with confidence that not only were we together and for God but that He is for us. Hallelujah! |

Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honour at God’s right hand, pleading for us. 35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

As we continue our journey through these strange, bizarre, uncomfortable, distressing, not enough adjectives to describe days we can be more than conquerors. We know and we have experienced His love, guidance, peace joy and sustaining power on the mountain tops and in the valley and we will again!
He is still God and continues to work and shape us into the people He needs us to be. Look back and see His hand in your life and then look forward with renewed strength and stand Click on the image of the Bible to hear the song

A PRAYER:
Dear Lord, help us to stand! Be our strength through this storm; be our comfort and our solid ground. Let us experience your peace when our fears are stilled in your presence. Help us to be covered by your righteousness as we believe in You. Confirm our faith once again as we draw closer to You and make us aware of Your guiding had and confident that we WILL stand in Your strength.
Blessing: Romans 15: 5-6
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to love in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen
