Say a little prayer:
Some of you have been listening to the Hext videos which my son David has been putting out each week. It started when lockdown was introduced and we clapped for the NHS. One recent song was ‘Say a little prayer for me’ originally recorded by Aretha Franklin. This was chosen by my granddaughter Amy and dedicated to Ruth, Amy’s school buddy, as she is a nurse in the NHS.

The first lines of the lyrics to this song are;
The moment I wake up Before I put on my make up I say a little prayer (for you) This is the video recorded on 18th June. |
This is my start to the day. An early walk round the village, then breakfast and coffee, sort out emails and messages, then my Bible time. ‘Our Daily Bread’ has some good contributors, along with many Daily Devotions also from many different contributors. I use a Prayer Guide issued by the Nationwide Christian Trust, a Care Prayer Diary and a Prayer Shield issued by Release International. All these keep me in touch with aspects of life which I am not familiar with. And then of course my own list of people to pray for, the list sometimes seems endless. Only when that is complete do I have a shower, get dressed and put on my make up!
I do miss meeting up with you all. The love and support you have shown me has helped me get through a rough couple of years.

This hymn/song has been a favourite of mine for many years, words and music matching perfectly.
Great is Thy faithfulness Great is Thy faithfulness Morning by morning new mercies I see All I have needed Thy hand has provided Great is Thy faithfulness Lord unto me. |

Can you help?
In this current situation when our church doors are closed to our normal activities but our work to support those in need continues, our normal source of funds (Sunday Tithes and Offerings) have reduced dramatically. We need your help, so that we continue to be ready to meet the ongoing needs of our community that will undoubtedly impact beyond this lock down period. If you are willing to help please visit our Just Giving Page to make a donation to this work. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bedfordsa
